Formed mid-late November 2007, amidst a series of 'upside down beer drinking' sessions, and to the background music of Leonard Cohen, Primal Scream and New Order (to name but a few) Then We Take Berlin are primed to explode onto Europe's Indie music scene in 2008. Brought together by a mutual friend (namely music producer and club promoter, Mark Law) guitarist and bassist Frank A. McCracken and Cliff Shapiro were introduced to singer Richard Woods, and hit it off due to their mutual taste in music. Countless conversations ensued after several nights of mayhem, until one day a studio session was arranged, and the tracks Caress Me Now and A Little Less Closer were born. Since that day the band have been hard at work preparing recorded tracks, and are now ready to hit the stage all over Europe this year, including 333Motherbar, Proud, Club V, Bang Bang Club, Duncker Club & Favela Chic alongside new band-members Stanley Goldstein (Rhythm Guitar) and Geoffrey Fairchild (Drums).
It's official...Then We Take Berlin will be appearing as one of the final 50 bands in this year's Orange Unsigned Competition. Gotta say, after some great live shows in London and a sell out gig in downtown Berlin, we couldnt be more hyped about taking part. Keep your eyes glued to the TV.......First We Take Channel 4!
