THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT... THE FUTURE'S ORANGE..

THE FUTURE'S PRESSURE!!!

It's all systems go with the band at the moment as Pressure will be entering this year's prestigious Orange Unsigned competition - remember that music show that was on Channel 4's T4 Sunday hangover slot last year (after Hollyoaks) with Radio 1's Jo Whiley, Blur's very own Alex James, and that music industry bloke that nobody knows (Simon Gavin), well that's the competition.

So why are we telling you all this and what's the big deal? Well actually it's a record deal and a fairly big one at that – with Universal home to Razorlight, Amy Winehouse, Kaiser Chiefs to name but a few. In addition to that the competition winners also get a single released immediately following the final show and a huge promotional campaign.

Once the entry deadline closes on 31 August, there will be a two-week online voting period running from 1st September until 14th September for all acts. Those 25 acts with the most online votes will be invited to the first stage of auditions where they’ll play in front of the panel of judges (Radio 1's Jo Whiley, Blur's very own Alex James, and that music industry bloke that nobody knows, Simon Gavin). This is where we need to start asking the favours...

Obviously the top prize is way out of sight or reach for anyone at this present time but Pressure's immediate aim is to be amongst those top 25 bands voted onto the show. So please, and this is a massive, huge, gigantic, colossal plea on behalf of the band, spare us 5 minutes of your time and help us out by clicking on the cd below or by visiting http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk /acts/pressure and voting Pressure into the top 25 bands.

If you want a new band that engages audiences, play like their lives depend on it, have style, image, originality, reliability and an actively nurtured fan base, Pressure are it!

Pioneering their own sound of sax rock, Pressure are well rehearsed, tight, creative and energetic. The line up is Ben Liverman, the founder, songwriter, guitar & vocals in the group, Rebecca Liverman, saxophone & vocals, Rob Hales, bass guitar & Jonathan Smith, drums.

Having played many venues throughout the midlands, Pressure perform with an energy that underlines the meaning of their work and demands attention. Pressure work on connecting with their audience, through lyrics with real life and contemporary issues; action, optimism and drama are giving their performances a wide appeal - they don't just sound good - they look good too!

"A four-piece that creates a melange of funky bass lines and pounding drums with strains of sax perfectly audible above everything else. They play thier stuff well and end in an epic frenzy" - Sandman Magazine, 2005

"Bags of stage presence, energey and enthusiasm, which went along so well with their catchy bouncy songs. They appear to have that certain something which makes a crowd warm to a band" - Plus 1 Magazine, 2004

"These guys have that new British rock sound, that leaves you breathless and proud of it" - www.saggy-panys.co.uk, 2004

"Brilliant modern sound!" - John Holmes, BBC Radio Derby, 2003
