Pressure has grown from a simple belief in creating and performing great music. Taking several line-up changes on the chin, Pressure finally struck gold when the customary twin guitars, was replaced with the introduction of a class saxophonist and a stable rhythm section! This drastically changed the sound of the band, giving the songs an exciting new edge, making us the Sax Rock outfit we are today. The amount of bookings resulting from this, has meant that Pressure have become a formidable, polished live act, leaving audiences buzzing with energy and excitement.
Weaving sax in and out of songs, with beautiful melodies and scorching solos, crunching driven guitar with a pounding rhythm section. We like to call it SAX ROCK! Pressure combines Prog/Rock sax fused with Punk/Rock guitars, mixed with gritty melodic vocals in a red/black haze of frantic energy.
Defined by the passion and vigour of our experiences, we continue to express ourselves with the energising songs we create. We remain dedicated to producing awesome live shows and developing our music for our fan-base.
Ashbourne Radio have interviewed Ben (thats me!) about the Orange Unsigned competition, they were keen to help spread the word and are going to air the interview sometime tomorrow. If you are in the Derbyshire Dales you can listen live on 96.7 FM or if you live out of town, you can listen online at www.ashbourneradio.co.uk
The interview is also online as an mp3 on the pressure website and myspace.
Please keep on voting for us, I know there are more fun things to do but it all really helps the band ;-)
THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT... THE FUTURE'S ORANGE..
THE FUTURE'S PRESSURE!!!
It's all systems go with the band at the moment as Pressure will be entering this year's prestigious Orange Unsigned competition - remember that music show that was on Channel 4's T4 Sunday hangover slot last year (after Hollyoaks) with Radio 1's Jo Whiley, Blur's very own Alex James, and that music industry bloke that nobody knows (Simon Gavin), well that's the competition.
So why are we telling you all this and what's the big deal? Well actually it's a record deal and a fairly big one at that – with Universal home to Razorlight, Amy Winehouse, Kaiser Chiefs to name but a few. In addition to that the competition winners also get a single released immediately following the final show and a huge promotional campaign.
Once the entry deadline closes on 31 August, there will be a two-week online voting period running from 1st September until 14th September for all acts. Those 25 acts with the most online votes will be invited to the first stage of auditions where they’ll play in front of the panel of judges (Radio 1's Jo Whiley, Blur's very own Alex James, and that music industry bloke that nobody knows, Simon Gavin). This is where we need to start asking the favours...
Obviously the top prize is way out of sight or reach for anyone at this present time but Pressure's immediate aim is to be amongst those top 25 bands voted onto the show. So please, and this is a massive, huge, gigantic, colossal plea on behalf of the band, spare us 5 minutes of your time and help us out by clicking on the cd below or by visiting http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk /acts/pressure and voting Pressure into the top 25 bands.
