Kyra Simone was born in the UK having a Caribbean background of St Lucian and Grenadian parentage. A wonderful mixture of the islands, musical ties and cultural influences has shaped how Kyra Simone thinks, feels, sounds and looks.

Coming from a musical family where her father played keys and sang and her mother sung lead in a reggae steel band. Her musical tastes growing up were from Soca, calypso, reggae and pop music. Her greatest influences at the time being her mother and her idols were Prince and Madonna.

Kyra got her first recording done at the tender age of six. ‘Wow when I listen to that I cant believe I was singing that high, its crazy, I was so young I barely remember it but I have the tape to prove it’. Kyra recalls.

After a few years of singing with bands, recording, doing live performances with her mother and joining a girl group, Kyra made a decision to take up singing full-time and that’s when she found out she was pregnant. ‘It was the best thing that ever happened to me I was so happy and really excited but I had to leave the girl band as I wanted to concentrate on my baby’.

Once her son was born Kyra moved back to London and went to Lewisham College, which is where she studied performing arts and music. Whilst there she worked with Peer Publishing, BBC Worldwide and Mercury records, and was recognized by the college for her talent ands was featured in the college magazine.

Kyra continues to work with various artists, and producers, such as Supafly who had a hit Lets get down (Island Records) and Maria Lawson (Sony BMG Artist), Supa Soul Brutha Del, Jason Jermaine, Andrae Bentley and other distinguished UK artist’s. Kyra also continues to get support from UK soul, BBC Three DJ-Lee Drummond, UKMusic.com, Black Heroes In the hall of fame – Flip Fraser, Struggs – A Salute to the Wailers, Madison Media, Rewind Magazine and others.

In the midst off all the happenings Kyra was spotted by TBRL Music Label manager, Ainslee Connage, who saw a gifting in her that he felt, would blossom into a great singer/songwriter and thats when Kyra was offered her record deal with TBRL Music and started writing her own songs for TBRL Publishing.

Kyra after much deliberation decided that working with TBRL Music was not working out and decided to take that step out into the unknown with a few key characters that will help to shape her future and take her to the next level of her musical journey.

The Scent... Kyra takes you through a fragranced journey of life experiences that can bring you joy, bring you pain and capture moments that should never be taken for granted.. Kyra says - 'The alluring sweet scent that the spiritual can pick up on is something that all people should be aware of. It can keep you from trouble and lead you to good times... Jus a LITtle INtRo....
This is where I talk in the language of poetry and images... This is my time
I have to take time to imagine and picture
Picture all my wonders and delights
Picture my future
Not just the one foretold in all its glory
But I also picture the one that tells my hidden story

This story is hidden in my core
Bubbling, simmering...
As if waiting for its explosion into the world
Like a volcano waiting to erupt
Some, I know, it will catch by surprise
But my tongue speaks its arrival
And those that live near ME
Those that live near this volcano of vision and purpose
Will recognise it fruit’s of success

And this fire will devour all that didn’t believe MY story
All those that gazed as the volcano simmered and bubbled
All those that never watched and observed
All those that wouldn’t learn and prepare
All those that didn’t communicate and listen
All those that did not believe that there was rescue and escape
All those who laughed and mocked
All those who were blinded by loneliness
All those who were distracted with lust
All those who were consumed with rage
All those who were diverted and troubled
All those with no ability to meditate and focus on their reality

This is why I take time to picture and create
Yes my Design
My story,
My glory,
My future,
My reality

I have survived the fire and escaped its fury
I praise the Most High for the gene He implanted in ME
The knowledge day by day that He teaches me
The ability to escape the flames of the Lie the world feeds me
The ability to believe and work towards the purpose that is in me
The ability to love and care for all who surrounds me
The ability to unconditionally love all of those that have wounded me
The ability to forgive all those that have tried to destroy me
The ability to focus when people close are constantly doubting me
The ability to share with those who act selfishly
The ability and wisdom to know my virtuosity
The ability to have strength and know my reality
The ability to change and design my Story
The ability to find healing in my blunders
The ability to know my imperfections does not mean I have no future
The ability to positively inspire
The ability to do what is needed and what is required
The ability to LOVE others and myself
The ability to over stand and comprehend
So each day I take time to picture my story
My future
My glory
As the mind unfolds my destiny
My spirit speaks its reality
I create my own universe in all its totality

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

Everyday I learn to love me a little more... this is the last day of voting but I just really wanted to say to all those that have supported me in voting by actions and not just words that I have a favourite all time saying and that is

Anything looked at closely becomes wonderful.

Trust me the universe will bless you for showing love, all the new ones and the ones that have got my back from day one.

Bless, hairgrease, cocoa butter and filtered water, good food and healthy sex.. cause that and supporting what you believe in (which includes yourself) keeps you fresh and clean and lean and young.
